The Cat Patterns of Life

Have you ever wondered why some cats have patterned coats? How cats varies in all fur patterns?

The cheetah has a coat especially covered in circle blotches, while tabby cats have very big stripes. Why do they have it? It’s because of a particular gene that these cats share that makes blotches and stripes on cats. This gene can also cause mutations to these patterns in the future stages. The cheetah might have blotch stripes and the tabby might change its pattern to blotch spots. This particular gene that causes all of this is called the Taqpep Gene.

Canada's Northern Gateway Pipeline (School Work)

Recently we have been studying the Northern Gateway Pipeline that will be going through Alberta, B.C. and the ocean all the way to China. It will deliver oil through the pipeline and immigrate westwards. The Northern Gateway Pipeline is being managed by Enbridge which is an oil company. The problem is that many people don't trust the Enbridge because of recent oil spills in the past decade. Many people want to promote this Pipeline into action, but many others have concerns.

After reading several articles and seeing videos for and against the project, I believe that the project shouldn't be continued. Think of what would happen if the pipeline broke anytime in the ocean. 

Half Brother By Kenneth Oppel (School Assignment)

Although I have talked about the book before, but this is for a school assignment.

Is it even possible to have a monkey as a brother? Brown-furry creatures, they would terrorize our homes!

Half Brother is a very melodious book written by Canadian author, Kenneth Oppel.  Oppel writes about the atypical life of Ben Tomlin. His new brother Zan is a monkey. No, I didn’t say he acts like one, he IS one. Ben’s mom and dad brought the chimp home to see if Zan, the monkey, can learn human sign language and the human life.

Bamfield Reflection (School Work)

I know I have talked about Bamfield too much, but I have to do a reflection on it and try to get my reflection on my school Spectrum (Newspaper):

Bamfield

            Bamfield (Victoria, B.C.) was a great experience. Probably saving the school’s paramount camping trip for last! I can imagine myself cradling back and forth on the Alta, the nice-exotic air in the rainforest and about millions of sea snails I killed, desolately. I never thought all this fun would ride with me so shortly.

             Yesterday was a long-dreadul day, but eyes open, I was ready to learn. We began with the Oceanography Plankton Tow. We went on a skiff, a bright-silver boat flashing before my eyes. Voyaging on the skiff with my group, the sound of waves bubbled behind.

I love dogs so much! Well, I love every animal with eyes......yeah.

This is just adorable to watch and I'm sure dogs don't have much common sense on ratting out friends.

The Start of a new school year was great! The Bamfield Marine Science Center (Victoria, B.C.) is the best place to explore, with the lovely sounds of the ocean and the amazing things you'll learn about diversity in marine biology.
